I accept commissions all the time, including portraits of people & animals. My full color acrylic paintings on 11" x 14" illustration board, 2"-deep panel or stretched canvas cost $375. Black and white acrylic paintings on 11" x 14" illustration board, panel or stretched canvas cost $275. Larger full-color commissions can be painted on illustration board, 2"-deep panels, or canvas stretched over a 2"-deep wooden frame:
16" x 20" illustration board : $500
16" x 20" canvas/ panel: $550
24" x 36" illustration board: $600
24" x 36" canvas/ panel: $650
36" x 48" canvas/ panel: $900
These prices are for private commissions to be hung in the home only; art to be used commercially requires higher fees based on what usage rights you're interested in purchasing. For portraits, please email both close-up head-shots and full-body photos to firstname.lastname@example.org, as well as any ideas you have of what you want to see. A deposit of 1/2 the agreed-upon fee in advance gets you 3 sketches, and a final sketch based on your feedback.
When the painting is completed, I email you photos of the final art for approval and ship the painting to you once the balance is paid, plus shipping with insurance. Please note that large paintings are shipped via UPS, and that the client pays for shipping plus insurance. Thanks to everyone who's commissioned me!
I'm Mister Reusch, a freelance illustrator and part-time illustration instructor at Massachusetts College of Art & Design in Boston, MA. ( When I was just starting out as a freelancer in the early 90s, I thought it'd be funny to sign my name "Mister Reusch", hoping potential clients would think I was some old, established guy.) I've created over 500 illustrations for the Bloomsbury book series, UNBORED, The Essential Field Guide to Serious Fun, UNBORED Games, and the upcoming UNBORED Adventure. I've designed 150 posters and over 600 editorial illustrations, as well as t-shirts, greeting cards, calendars, cd covers, tattoos, and giant monster masks. The snowboards and helmets I designed for Burton have been seen in the Olympics and X-Games, and I've also created art fundraisers for several dog rescue groups that have raised almost $10,000. I live with my partner, Sheila, and 2 dogs, Frankenstein & Louie, in a 327-year old historic farmhouse in rural Massachusetts.
